Transforming Jetty Road Glenelg project begins
The $40 million Transforming Jetty Road Glenelg project has officially begun and will deliver a modern, safe, vibrant and accessible destination that will cement Glenelg as Adelaide’s premier coastal shopping, dining and entertainment precinct - while still being the heart of our local community.
Night works kicked off this week in the City zone, which is the eastern end of Jetty Road, from Partridge / Gordon streets to Brighton Road.
The construction work is taking place in small areas on the footpaths, which are being reinstated by morning to allow the street to operate as normal as possible during the day.
Further street renewal construction in the City zone will start early next month on the footpaths, kerbs, watertable and garden beds and will take place during day time hours.
Importantly, all businesses will still be accessible during the construction works and there will be no change to the function of Jetty Road in the City zone.
Preliminary design work is underway for the Transition and Coast zones, which encompass the remainder of Jetty Road from the Partridge / Gordon streets intersection to the fringes of Moseley Square and into Colley Terrace.
Concept plans will go out to community consultation in early 2025.
