If you’ve ever taken a stroll along the Minda Coast Path, you would have passed by a series of “pebble” sculptures, including two that gently rest together near the Minda Inc site.

The series of pebbles, which demonstrate the connection to the coastal environment, Kaurna culture and reflect the natural environment of the Minda site, are titled Imprints of Time and were installed as part of the Coast Path redevelopment in 2019.

They were created by Principal Artist Karl Meyer, Exhibition Studios and Kaurna Artist Allan Sumner and feature sand and water patterns and Kaurna language and cultural elements.

Minda artists were also involved in developing the imprints that reflect the coastal dunes.

The word Minda is today associated with the state’s largest not-for-profit disability service provider, Minda Inc. But the organisation has had Minda in its name since it was first established in 1898.

Minda is a Kaurna word meaning shelter and protection.
