Road Closures

Road closures will be in effect along the Esplanade on 20 January and 3 February 2025 to ensure safe installation and bump out of sculptures. Road closures will be staggered in two stages (timings are approximate):

• South: Jetty Road to Beach Road – closed 7am to 12pm
• North: Jetty Road to Dunluce Ave – closed 12pm to 4pm

The following road closures will be in effect for the Brighton Jetty Classic, Brighton Street Party and the Marilyn Swim.

Road closures:

12pm Friday 31 January and will expire approx. 8.30pm Sunday 2 February 2025:

• ESPLANADE, BRIGHTON between Beach Road and Jetty Road
• BINDARRA RD, BRIGHTON between Esplanade and Twining Lane

In addition to the above, the following roads will also be closed to traffic from 10am Saturday 1 February and will expire approximately 3.30pm Sunday 2 February 2025:

• ESPLANADE, BRIGHTON between Jetty Road and Dunluce Ave
• JETTY ROAD, BRIGHTON between Esplanade and Elm Street

In addition to the above, 15-minute rolling closures will be in place from 9.45am - 10.30am on Sunday, 2 February 2025, to facilitate the safe passage of the Marilyns.

This will follow from Dunluce Castle on Yester Avenue, Indra Terrace, Dunluce Avenue and Gurrs Road.

TOW AWAY AREAS / NO PARKING AREA:

Please note that in accordance with Road Traffic Act 1961, Section 40N, vehicles parked within temporary road closures or within temporary No Parking and No Stopping areas will be towed away.

The following community Street Meet events have been approved in accordance with the Street Meet guidelines and will have road closures as follows:

• King Street, Brighton between King George Avenue and The Crescent on Sunday 1 December between 2:30pm and 5:30pm.
• Illawarra Avenue, Hove between Railway Terrace and #54 Illawarra Avenue on Sunday 1 December between 3pm and 6pm.
• Golflands Terrace, Glenelg North between Acacia Avenue and Stewart Avenue on Saturday 7 December between 3pm and 10pm.
• Rutland Avenue, Brighton between Trevilion Avenue and the Dead End on Sunday 8 December between 3:30pm and 8pm.
• Dunluce Avenue, Brighton between Indra Terrace and Gurrs Road on Sunday 8 December between 4:30pm and 8:30pm.
• George Street, South Brighton between Oleander Street East and Shoreham Road on Saturday 14 December between 5pm and 9pm.
• Eton Road, Somerton Park between Prior Road and Oxford Street on Sunday 15 December between 3pm and 8pm.
• Chester Street, Glenelg South between Pier Street and Victoria Street on Saturday 21 December between 4pm and 10pm.
• Acacia Street, Seacliff between Wheatland Street and Maitland Terrace on Sunday 22 December between 3pm and 9pm.
• Preston Avenue, Brighton between Torr Avenue and Almond Grove on Sunday 22 December between 4:30pm and 8:30pm.
• Cudmore Street, Somerton Park between Walkers Road and Slade Street on Saturday 11 January between 1pm and 6pm.
