Parking restrictions are in place throughout the city to ensure safe and equal access to parking spaces for all. These restrictions align with the South Australian Road Rules and are displayed on signage covering an area. These restrictions may be active at different times of the day to maximise parking opportunities for everyone.
The Australian Road Rules are part of the Government of South Australia's Road Traffic Act. To ensure these restrictions are followed, we issue parking fines (Expiration Notices) to vehicles parked illegally. The driver must read the parking signs each time they park in an area and before leaving their vehicle.
Pay a Parking Fine
Parking fines can only be paid from 8:30am the next business day after issue.
Your expiation number is on the issued expiation notice. If paying by cheque, please include this number on the back of the cheque.
You have 28 days from the date of the original expiation notice to make full payment. If you fail to pay by this date, you will receive a reminder notice and incur additional fees.
You can pay:
- Online via Visa/Mastercard
- In-person at our Customer Service Centres:
- Brighton Civic Centre, 24 Jetty Road, Brighton
- Glenelg Library and Customer Service Centre, Glenelg
- By cheque or money order to our postal address: City of Holdfast Bay, PO BOX 19, Brighton
