Parking Permits

Glenelg CBD residents with insufficient off-street parking may apply for a 3P exemption parking permit to allow all-day parking in 3P parking areas in Glenelg CBD. Please complete the below application form and return it to Council.

Three Hour Exemption Parking for Glenelg CBD Residents

To ensure Glenelg CBD residents have reasonable access to parking near their homes and that retailers are not disadvantaged by short-term parking areas being taken up by all-day parking, Council has three-hour (3P) time-limited areas and an exemption permit available for these areas.

Three-hour time limit zones can be found within the areas bounded by Anzac Highway to Augusta Street, and Brighton Road to Colley Terrace; and streets south of Jetty Road on Marion Street, Maturin Road, Olive Street, and a portion of Kent Street. The three-hour time limit applies seven days per week from 9am to 6pm.

Glenelg CBD residents with insufficient off-street parking for their vehicles may apply for a 3P exemption parking permit, which allows all-day parking in 3P parking areas.

When parking near kerbside bins to be collected, drivers should consider the bins' collection—generally, park at least one metre away from bins on bin collection day.

Retailers and employees within the Glenelg CBD are encouraged to park in paid car parking areas or to use other on and off-street parking options.

Apply for a 3 Hour Parking Limit Zone

The permit is valid from 1 July to 30 June. Invitations to renew are mailed but it is the resident's responsibility to renew before 31 July of each year.
