Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), are in public buildings across the City of Holdfast Bay and are accessible during opening hours.
A defibrillator (AED) is a portable device to be used on a person who is in cardiac arrest before an ambulance arrives.
The general public can use AEDs. Once they are switched on, the AED will give voice instructions on how to use it.
The AED will deliver a measured electrical shock to restore the normal effective cardiac rhythm. You cannot hurt someone by using an AED.
*Also known as Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD), or Wearable Cardioverter Defibrillator (WCD).
