Book Discussion Groups

The Library Service currently supports 26 book discussion groups.

There are 8 members per group, and the fee is $200 per group each financial year. Most groups meet monthly at a variety of places, including local cafes or members' houses. Book group fees are used to refresh the collection and purchase new sets each year, based on suggestions by the groups.

Borrowing a set of books for your group each month is done using a self-serve model at the Brighton Library, and there are always plenty of options to choose from.

If you are interested in joining a book group as an individual, we can match you with a suitable group (spaces permitting). If you and your friends would like to start your own private book group, you are also welcome to join us!
