This majestic river red gum is our Tree of the Month for January and is a lasting legacy of long-time Seacliff resident Mary.
With her house overlooking Pine Gully, Mary planted this tree many decades ago, along with two others.
And while she has recently passed, the Friends of Pine Gully group are continuing to care for the tree and its surrounds.
Established around 12 years ago, the Friends of Pine Gully group have played a major role in revegetating the gully since it underwent a major transformation over the past 18 months.
If you have a favourite tree in Holdfast Bay, nominate it to be our next Tree of the Month.
