Back for 2025, the family-friendly event invites guests to indulge in the popular summer treat while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the Bay and Jetty Road and spending the evening with friends and family.

Kicking off at 4pm, Jetty Road will come alive for a street party featuring an ice cream village, a range of kids’ activities, fashion parades, live entertainment, and more.

Glenelg Ice Cream Festival

The following roads be closed to traffic between 12pm on Thursday 23 January 2025 and 6am Friday 24 January 2025:

  • Colley Terrace, Glenelg between Hope Street and Jetty Road
  • Jetty Road, Glenelg between Colley Terrace and Gordon Street
  • Durham Street, Glenelg between Augusta Street and Jetty Road (Local Traffic Only from Augusta Street)
  • Sussex Street, Glenelg from Jetty Road for 30m north (Local Traffic Only from Augusta Street)
  • Soal Street, Glenelg from Jetty Road for 35m north (Local Traffic Only from Augusta Street)
  • Nile Street, Glenelg from Jetty Road for 40m north (Local Traffic Only from Augusta Street)
  • Waterloo Street, Glenelg from Jetty Road for 20m north (Local Traffic Only from Augusta Street)
  • Byron Street, Glenelg from Jetty Road for 30m north (Local Traffic Only from Augusta Street)
  • Moseley Street, Glenelg between Jetty Road and Elizabeth Street
  • Milton Street, Glenelg between Jetty Road and Cowper Street (local traffic only)
  • Cowper Street, Glenelg between Milton Street and Jetty Road (local traffic only)
  • Jetty Street, Glenelg from Jetty Road for 20m north (Local Traffic Only from Augusta Street)

Bus stops will be redirected to High Street and the tram will terminate at Brighton Road Glenelg during the road closure period.

Tow Away Areas:

Please note that in accordance with Road Traffic Act 1961, Section 40N, vehicles parked within temporary road closures or within temporary No Parking and No Stopping areas will be towed away. Fees will apply to collect a vehicle from the compound.

The event will be conducted within council and emergency services guidelines, and security will be on site.
