Rotary Youth Photographic Exhibition

Please note that parent/guardian permission must be provided as part of the online entry.

Entries close 5pm Friday 02 August 2024

Up to two entries will be accepted per person.

All photographs will be judged on originality, theme, and creativity by a selection panel. The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The selected photographers and families will be notified before Monday 26 August 2024. The photographic exhibition prize winners will be announced at the exhibition closing event.

The Bay Discovery Centre Youth Photographic Exhibition will be held from Saturday 21 September - Sunday 20 October 2024.

The selected photographic images will be printed as 30cm x 20cm prints for display in the exhibition.

In preparation for submitting your child’s entry online, please;

• Ask your child to consider the title/name of the artwork/s.
• Prepare a description / blurb explaining each of your photograph (maximum of 50 words).
• Photograph/s to be supplied as a digital image. The image must be at least 1MB and no larger than 10MB. Remember the judging panel will be selecting based on the image upload, so please ensure the image submitted is of high quality.
• No square images will be accepted. Photos submitted must be either landscape or portrait.
• All photographs must have been taken in 2023 or 2024.

1. Entries must reflect the Nature and Environment theme.
2. The entrant grants the Rotary Club of Somerton Park and the City of Holdfast Bay permission to use the photographic image for the Rotary Youth Photography Exhibition at the Bay Discovery Centre in 2024.
3. The entrant must live or attend a school in Holdfast Bay and be in Reception - Year 6.
4. All photographs entered must have been taken in 2023 or 2024.
5. I understand the photographs submitted may be used for promotional purposes by the Rotary Club of Somerton Park or the City of Holdfast Bay in both print, digital and social media.
6. Photographs that are selected and printed to feature in the Rotary Youth Photographic Exhibition at the Bay Discovery Centre will be displayed with the title of the photo, the entrant’s first name, age and school year level.
7. The winning entrants will be asked to have a photo taken with members of the Rotary Club of Somerton Park and a representative of the City of Holdfast Bay, which will be used to promote the Rotary Youth Photographic Exhibition at the Bay Discovery Centre on print and social media.
8. The judging panel will select the prize winners, the artwork will be judged on originality, theme and creativity. The decisions of the judges are final. Only the selected photos will be included in the exhibition and the winning photographers will be contacted by phone, or via email.
9. Entry is only online, via the Holdfast website. No hard copy submissions will be accepted. Images of the artworks must be uploaded and entry submitted via the website.
