Wellbeing Hub

The Holdfast Wellbeing Hub focuses on supporting mental health, healthy eating, physical activity, and social connections. Collaborative working, partnerships, and education ensure the Holdfast Bay Wellbeing Hub is inclusive and accessible, built on community involvement, and a trusted source of dependable information and connections for the community.

Mental Wellbeing

In collaboration with Preventive Health and through partnerships with local evidence-based facilitators, the Wellbeing Hub offers community education sessions and wellbeing workshops designed to support you in caring for your mental wellbeing.

  • For mental health emergencies please call the Mental Health Triage line on 13 14 65 - available 24 hours, 7 days a week.
  • After Hours Support for Your Mental Health. A service available to people living in the Adelaide metropolitan area.
    Call 1800 013 755 between 5pm and 11:30pm, 365 days a year to receive support and understanding from those who have experienced similar paths - LETSS
  • The Grow Program is based on a 12-step program of personal growth, mutual help and support. This free program is all-inclusive and draws on many principles for mental and social health - Grow SA
  • Healthy Choices is a free program of motivation and support tailored to you · Participate in weekly sessions over 6 to 12 weeks. · Attend in-person online via video link or on the phone- Healthy Choices
  • Medicare Mental Health and Kids Hubs can connect you with a range of mental health professionals for support, Make a free call to the national phone service on 1800 595 212 (weekdays 8:30am-5:00pm, excl. public holidays) or visit for online support- Medicare Mental Health
  • GriefLink is a South Australian group providing information for people who are dealing with grief caused by the death of someone close to them, and for those who are supporting them -GriefLink

Physical Activities

Time, cost, and information are often barriers to physical activity. The Holdfast Bay Wellbeing Hub aims to support you by offering low-cost, beginner-level options throughout the week.

  • A free 5k walk, jog, run or volunteer each Saturday morning, 8am, Seaclifff. A community run event for all ages and abilities - Seacliff Esplanade Park Run
  • A free activity tracking app to help you improve your daily activity level 10,000 steps activity tracking app
  • Heart Foundation free walking group, Monday Mornings, Brighton - Women Walk the Talk
  • Silver Salties is a physical activity and social connections initiative for older Australians run Seacliff Surf Club. Silver Salties
  • Brighton Run Club meets every Monday at 6:30am at the Brighton Jetty. Choose between three- and five-kilometre runs. Runners are encouraged to bring their dogs along as well - Brighton Run Club
  • Salty Sips is a free community event run on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday mornings of the Month in Glenelg. Inclusive 30 minute yoga followed by a swim, attendees are encouraged to purchase a warm drink to warm up after the swim and foster connections - Salty Sips

Healthy Eating

Its well documented that eating a healthy well balanced diet is vital for our wellbeing. The wellbeing hub will offer opportunities to explore healthy eating options for all members of the community through education workshops, demo classes and directions to healthier alternatives.

  • Healthy Habits is a Free exercise and nutrition program offered by Sonder. Tailored plans developed with a professional either online or in person Healthy Habits
  • Grow Free supports the growing of produce in homes, gardens, community spaces and schools. The site shows where grow free carts are located across the state and how to become a part of the community - Grow Free

Social Connections

Feeling connected to the community is an important part of our wellbeing. It can influence our mental and physical wellbeing. Participating in community groups, events, and workshops can help us build more connections and enhance our sense of belonging.

  • Be Connected is an Australian government initiative committed to building the confidence, digital skills and online safety of older Australians in order to remain connected- Be Connected
  • All-inclusive free community craft group, Thursday Mornings, 10-12, Lighthouse Community Church, Jetty Road, Brighton - Bright n Light Craft Group
  • Women's social group fundraising and advocating for The Smith Family, Monthly meetings held on Wednesdays, 6pm Club Marion. VIEW Club social community group
  • Community Connections is a 12 week program for people experiencing loneliness or barriers to accessing the community. Over the 12 weeks I work 1:1 with the participant to achieve goals and overcome these barriers. Community Connections is for people aged between 18 and 64, living in SA and are ineligible for NDIS and My Aged Care - Community Connections
