City of Holdfast Bay appoints new CEO
The City of Holdfast Bay is pleased to announce the appointment of Pamela Jackson to the role of Chief Executive Officer.
Ms Jackson has been acting in the role since August 2024, following the retirement of former CEO Roberto Bria.
She has a wealth of experience gained during her nine years with the City of Holdfast Bay, during which she’s held the positions of General Manager, Assets & Delivery and General Manager, Strategy & Corporate.
Mayor Amanda Wilson said following a very high number of applicants for the CEO role, Ms Jackson was the stand-out candidate with exceptional leadership skills along with business transformation and stakeholder management.
Prior to joining the City of Holdfast Bay, Ms Jackson held leadership positions in the corporate, consulting and government sectors across a range of industries from aviation to wine, automotive and financial services with experience on national and global projects.
Ms Jackson has also held roles within the Department of the Premier and Cabinet and the Department of Planning and Local Government.
“We received 84 applications and went through a robust recruitment process with assistance from a qualified independent expert,” Mayor Wilson said.
“The elected member body held a special meeting of Council on Tuesday 3 December 2024 to finalise recruitment for the role and we are thrilled that Pamela has accepted our formal offer to this position.
“Pamela has demonstrated her brilliant leadership credentials and strategic intelligence during her time at the City of Holdfast Bay, in particular over the past few months while acting in the position of CEO.
“In her nine years at Holdfast Bay, she has led numerous portfolios covering two-thirds of the Council’s operations as well as understanding the business operations of Alwyndor which provides aged care residential, therapy and wellness services.
“The future of the City of Holdfast Bay is in good hands with Pamela at the helm and we look forward to working together to continue to service our community while investing in our future with infrastructure projects that are going to cement Holdfast Bay as the state’s premiere coastal destination to live, work and play.”
In the roles of general manager, Ms Jackson has led the completion of more than $15 million of new capital projects across the city including Glenelg’s Chapel Plaza and Bouchee Walk, the Minda Coast Path, Kingston Park Kiosk and Seacliff amenities building.
Ms Jackson is Holdfast Bay's first female CEO.
