The lift in Glenelg’s Bay Discovery Centre will be temporarily closed for up to six weeks for maintenance and repairs.

Work will begin on Monday 16 September 2024 and the lift will be cordoned off and closed to the public during this time.

The Visitor Information Outlet on the ground floor will remain open however the Bathing Box will be closed as this will be behind the safe work barrier for the lift works.

The main floor and mezzanine level of the Bay Discovery Centre will also remain open with access via a flight of stairs.

Disabled and accessible public toilets are located on the northern side of the building, between the Glenelg Town Hall and The Beachouse.

The temporary lift closure will also impact on three Council meetings which are usually held at the Glenelg Town Hall.

The lift closure will impact on the scheduled Council meetings on Tuesday 24 September and Tuesday 8 October 2024.

As the meetings must be accessible to all community members, those scheduled Council meetings will be held at the Brighton Civic Centre at 24 Jetty Road, Brighton.
