Dementia-Friendly Holdfast Bay – Stage 2
In 2016 the City of Holdfast Bay signed a commitment to become a dementia friendly community and worked in collaboration with Alzheimer’s Australia to implement a number of internal changes that would benefit the community. We are currently up to stage 2 of the Dementia Friendly Holdfast Bay plan. In partnership with the Flinders Digital Health Research Centre, Holdfast Bay is conducting a study to understand how ‘user friendly’ services, facilities and outdoor areas within the City of Holdfast Bay are for people, including those living with dementia. The information gathered through your participation will enable the development of strategies that support access and inclusion for everyone, including people living with dementia.
Click here to complete the survey now. Hard copies of the surveys are also available from the Brighton or Glenelg Library.
All surveys must be received by 5pm on Wednesday 28 February.
A follow up focus group will be held on Friday 16 March at 10am. If you would like to also attend this group, please indicate your interest on the survey and we will be in contact with you.
Making Every Contact Count (MECC)
The City of Holdfast Bay is the first metropolitan council in Australia to participate in the MECC (Making Every Contact Count) initiative. In partnership with SA Health and Meals on Wheels we are talking with older residents about lifestyle changes that can improve health and independence.
Complaints – Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)
If you are concerned about the care or services you receive you can make a complaint. Providers can improve the quality of care and services they provide to you and other residents.
To register a complaint or for more information, go to the Aged Care Complaints commissioner.
