Small Business Friendly Council Initiative

On 5 December 2017 We became the first metropolitan council to join the Small Business Friendly Council Initiative being coordinated through the Office of the Small Business Commissioner.

For businesses this means a commitment by council to liaise with small businesses on a regular basis, offer training, forums and networking events, prompt payment of accounts, commitment to local procurement wherever possible and having policies in place to work with businesses regarding dispute resolution should they arise.

Initiatives already in place include introducing the Small Business Grant for new and existing businesses, improved processes and contact points to ensure that it's easy for local businesses to access information and interact with us and engaging with businesses and industry leaders to set the economic direction for Holdfast Bay over the next five years.
